Outpatient Orthopedics · Las Cruces · Alamogordo · El Paso

Be the reason they come back.

PTAs at Back in Action are not support staff. You're a core part of how we deliver care — and we treat you that way.

About the Role

This is a full-time PTA position in our outpatient orthopedic clinics across Las Cruces, Alamogordo, and El Paso. You'll work closely with our Physical Therapists to deliver high-quality, individualized care — and you'll have the time and support to do it right.

PTAs at BIA carry a meaningful caseload, participate in team learning, and are treated as clinical professionals — not just technicians. If you're looking for a place where your work actually matters to the team around you, this is it.

We're a practice built on relationships — with patients, and with each other. PTAs are a big part of why patients trust us.

What You Bring

  • Associate's degree in Physical Therapist Assistant from an accredited program
  • Active PTA license in New Mexico or Texas (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Strong hands-on clinical skills and patient communication
  • A collaborative, team-first mindset
  • New graduates welcome

What We Expect

  • Deliver skilled physical therapy interventions under the direction of a supervising PT
  • Build genuine therapeutic relationships with patients and follow through on their plans of care
  • Document accurately and on time within our EMR system
  • Communicate proactively with your supervising PT on patient progress and concerns
  • Engage with the team — monthly skills sessions, peer learning, clinic culture
  • Pursue continuing education and bring new skills into your practice

Your Responsibilities

  • Implement individualized treatment plans as directed by the supervising PT
  • Instruct patients in therapeutic exercises and home exercise programs
  • Apply manual therapy techniques within your scope of practice
  • Monitor patient progress and communicate changes to the supervising PT
  • Maintain accurate documentation for each patient encounter
  • Maintain licensure and required CEUs

Why Back in Action Therapy

You're treated like a clinician

PTAs at BIA are respected members of the clinical team. Your input on patients matters, your growth is invested in, and your schedule is protected so you can do your job well.

Mentorship and learning built in

Monthly skills sessions, access to MedBridge, and a team of experienced PTs who are genuinely willing to teach. We invest in PTA development because better clinicians produce better outcomes.

Manageable caseload

We protect the therapeutic relationship. Your schedule is designed so you can deliver quality care — not just get through the day.

Independent and values-driven

Not hospital-owned. Not a roll-up. We're a privately owned practice that makes decisions based on what's right for patients and staff — not quarterly earnings.

A team worth showing up for

Small enough that everyone knows your name. Supportive enough that asking for help is normal. You'll know your colleagues, and leadership will know you.

Stability and growth

We're an established practice that's actively growing — which means job security and opportunity. PTAs who want more responsibility can find it here.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive base salary + performance incentive pay
  • Health and dental coverage
  • 401(k) with matching
  • Continuing education budget
  • MedBridge access
  • Flexible scheduling options
