Las Cruces, NM · 2–4 Spots · Cohort Starts Every August

Your OCS. Paid for. Built in.

Most new grads spend years hoping to find time and money for their OCS. We built a program that makes it the job — with structured mentorship, company-funded exam costs, and a defined path forward from day one.

What the OCS Mastery Track Is

The OCS Mastery Track is an 18-month intensive mentorship program designed to take a new graduate from licensure to Orthopedic Clinical Specialist certification — with Back in Action Therapy covering the cost of every step.

This is not a loose mentorship arrangement or a promise to 'support your learning.' It's a structured, cohort-based program with dedicated paid mentorship hours built directly into your working schedule, a curriculum weighted to mirror the OCS exam, and a formal written agreement that makes the commitment mutual.

Cohorts are small — 2 to 4 clinicians per year — and start every August at our Las Cruces clinics. If you want a clear path to your OCS from the first day you walk in the door, this is it.

How It Works

01

The Mentorship Phase — Months 1–18

  • 3 hours of structured 1:1 mentorship per week for 12 months — built into paid working hours
  • Mentorship curriculum weighted by OCS exam body systems, so you're building exam-ready knowledge through real clinical work
  • First 7 weeks focused on evaluation skills, patient experience, soft skills, and clinical fundamentals
  • Months 13–18: 1 hour per week of dedicated OCS exam prep study time
  • Approximately 175 total paid mentorship hours over 18 months
  • All OCS exam prep materials and examination fees paid by Back in Action Therapy
02

Certification & Commitment — Post-OCS

  • Upon passing your OCS boards, you receive a pay increase
  • 18-month employment commitment to Back in Action Therapy following certification
  • Continue practicing as an OCS-certified PT with the full support of the team
  • Access to program development opportunities and advanced clinical tracks
03

What Comes Next

  • Clinicians who complete the track and want to give back have the opportunity to become an OCS mentor for future cohorts
  • Mentor role comes with an additional pay increase
  • It's not required — but for clinicians who want to stay, grow, and lead, the path is there

The Commitment — On Both Sides

The OCS Mastery Track requires a formal written agreement. We're investing approximately 175 hours of paid mentorship time and covering the full cost of your OCS certification — and we ask for a genuine commitment in return.

The total commitment is three years: 18 months of intensive mentorship, followed by 18 months of employment with Back in Action Therapy after you earn your certification.

We're straightforward about this because we want candidates who take it seriously. If you're looking for a place to clock in and clock out, this isn't it. If you want a company that will invest in your development at a level most private practices never will, and you're willing to commit to the work — this was built for you.

Who This Is For

Primarily: New Graduates

The OCS Mastery Track is designed first and foremost for new DPT graduates who want a defined certification pathway from day one. If you're about to finish school and want your first job to be more than just a job — a structured environment where you're actively working toward your OCS with a team behind you — this is the program.

Also: Experienced PTs Ready to Level Up

If you're a working PT who hasn't pursued your OCS yet and wants a structured, supported path to get there, we're open to the conversation. The cohort model and mentorship structure work for clinicians at any stage — as long as the commitment makes sense for where you are.
