Outpatient Orthopedics · Las Cruces · Alamogordo · El Paso

Do the work you trained for.

We hire PTs we trust — then we get out of the way. Your clinical judgment, your treatment plans, your goals. We built the infrastructure around that.

About the Role

This is a full-time outpatient physical therapy position across our Las Cruces, Alamogordo, and El Paso clinics. You'll carry a manageable caseload, work with a collaborative team, and have dedicated time built into your schedule for mentorship and growth — not just patient visits.

We treat a wide range of orthopedic and sports conditions. If you come in with a specialty interest — ACL rehab, pelvic health, running performance, dry needling — we'll help you develop it. If you don't have one yet, we'll help you find it.

This is not a volume-first clinic. We protect the therapeutic relationship because we believe that's what produces outcomes — and outcomes are what we're here for.

What You Bring

  • Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited program
  • Active PT license in New Mexico or Texas (or eligibility to obtain)
  • A genuine interest in outpatient orthopedics and/or sports rehab
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • New graduates welcome — our mentorship program is built for you

What We Expect

  • Evaluate and treat patients across a variety of orthopedic and sports diagnoses
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation within our EMR system
  • Communicate clearly with patients, families, and referring providers
  • Participate actively in mentorship — both as a mentee early on and as a mentor as you grow
  • Show up as a contributor to clinic culture, not just a provider filling a schedule
  • Pursue continuing education and bring what you learn back to the team

Your Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough initial evaluations and build individualized treatment plans
  • Deliver one-on-one care with appropriate use of support staff
  • Progress patients intentionally toward functional, meaningful goals
  • Collaborate with clinical directors and peers on complex cases
  • Maintain licensure and required CEUs
  • Participate in monthly skills sessions and team development

Why Back in Action Therapy

Mentorship that's actually structured

Six months of paid 1:1 mentorship — two hours every week. Designed around your specific questions, cases, and growth areas. Not a shadow program. Not a once-a-month check-in.

A caseload you can work with

We protect the therapeutic relationship by protecting your schedule. You'll see patients at a pace that lets you do your job well — not just fill slots.

Find your clinical lane

Sports performance, ACL rehab, pelvic health, dry needling, running assessment — if you have a passion, we'll invest in it. If you're still figuring it out, we'll help you explore.

Independent and clinician-led

We're not hospital-owned, not a roll-up, and not answering to a corporate quota. Decisions get made by people who treat patients — and that shows in how the clinics run.

Room to grow into leadership

Clinical Director, program development, operations — the path forward exists and we promote from within. We have a formal leadership track for clinicians who want it.

A team that has your back

Small enough that everyone knows everyone. Large enough to offer real resources. You'll have colleagues you actually want to work with and leadership that's genuinely accessible.
